Mai Samui Beach Resort & Spa ★★★★★

The place was definitely very nice at some point, probably 10 years ago. Now it is definitely worn out, and needs serious improvemnets

cleaning was not done properly and sometimes the make up of the room was not done till very late in the evening, even if this was meant to be done twice in the morning and in the evening for turndown

Location - nothing nearby Staff - friendly but no idea what they were doing Only one restaurant/pub With limited choices Stuck there at night as everything shuts at 8 ! Room service was hot and miss - no water , no cups , no tea etc etc

Awesome breakfast, relaxing time in the pool, tranquil mornings and really friendly staff. Great massage service, patient restaurant staff and lovely food. Great just to walk along beach and explore other places to eat too. Good facilities and activities and getting taxis or bikes was very easy too.

Maybe nets over bed? - Bed(s) very comfortable but I had two singles as a double with sheets for a single beds. Not easy to shut room door so made it loud slam - door handle needs looking at - not just my room. Being fussy some of the outside building looking a bit tired but that's a minor point.

Amazing Breakfast! Great Deisgn! Great Room!

The staff didnt book us the taxi we asked for and we almost missed our boat in the morning. The amazing bath we had was seriously leaking and made it hard to enjoy it. The electricity was weird and a lot of switches didnt work for the lights. The hotel itself was far away from the city and it was pricy to get a taxi from the hotel to the city.

The breakfast is wonderful, many choices. The staff is very kind and caring. The place is peaceful and quiet. Many activities ( squash, gym, pétanque, yoga, spa …. ) Top

A large car parking area needed. TV system not good.

Too far from everything, very expensive taxi to there, too expenive spa treatments, beside that perfect

The location, hotel, pool & rooms were great

Staff is very nice & kind; but having hard times to fulfill requests (such as ordering a beer to the room). Also the minibar did not get restocked despite several requests.

Impossible to swim at the beach, too many rocks and not enough depth

Room not ready until @ 4:15, not particularly clean, a plate of unfinished food sat on the stairs to our room level for 24+ hours. Probably the biggest problem is the paths and steps. Smooth marble type surfaces which were very slippery (we had 2 falls in our group and were told of several more) and the steps were uneven in size/height, many without handrails.

The swimming pool is too dirty to swim which originally swim by the room is the reason I book it

The Hotel rooms very really amazing - spacious, modern and very fancy for the price we paid. We spent a few days of our honey moon there and truly enjoyed our stay. The staff really tried their best to satisfy our needs. Plus we could also snorkel and do canoeing for free which most hotels do not offer free of charge. The pool is really big so one can swim a lot and not feel bothered by the other guests. So thank you, Mai Samui Beach resort for making our stay special.

No matter how much the hotel staff tried to clean it m, the beach was a bit dirty as there was garbage both in the water and on the beach. But this definitely had nothing to do with the hotel, rather with the water pollution in general.

Very beautiful hotel - when you come into the lobby the first impression is amazing. Feels like you are completely in nature with a huge swimmingpool which surrounds the whole hotel environment. Nice and calm location. Excellent! Our room was very big and clean. We really liked the huge bath tube which we havent anticipated before we entered the room. The option to dry your wet clothes for free is fantastic. Whenever we needed something like water or tea - we got it served in no time to our room. Next to the hotel you can rent a bike and discover the whole island and you also have the option to bring your clothes to the laundry in the hotel or next to the hotel. A big shout out for the staff, who helped us every time, especially when we were supposed to go to the next island and we were almost going to the wrong pier which the staff recognized immediately. Here we want to thank Lady Sudarat M. who helped us with the whole procedure. It was a pleasure to go to breakfast every morning and see all the smiling faces from the staff and the really nice and helpful sous chef Tek. Thank you for making our stay such a great experience and it was always nice to have a chat with you. We also want to mention the food, which was really nice and delicious. There was a variety of fresh fruit and other great Thai and European specialities. We really enjoyed our stay here that is also the reason why we stayed a night longer than we had usually planed.

That we needed to leave :)

The breakfast was pretty poor compared to other resorts we have stayed in. Very little variety and not always very fresh. Some food looked like leftovers. The location was pretty remote.

We didn't like the food much as it didn't seem very authentic compared with the two local restaurants either side of the resort which were much better value for money, a bit pricey too for what it was as were the drinks. The staff spoke very little English so communication was difficult, especially when there was an issue. They were polite however. The pool bar staff seemed disinterested and the drinks were not very nice. Some training here would be very beneficial. Also, the presence of some capable managers as the staff sometimes looked a bit lost.
